Inspection and Maintenance
Ropes course or zip wire
should have a regular and recorded inspection.
Inspection
Under EN15567 a ropes course or zip wire should have a regular and recorded inspection.
There are 4 levels of inspection
- Daily routine visual inspection: Should be carried out at the start of each day the course is being used inline with the manufactures guidelines
- Operational inspection: Should be carried out every 1-3 months depending on usage, and should be carried out by a competent qualified operational inspect
- Periodic/Annual inspection: Are detailed inspections that should be carried out every 12-15 months by an experienced inspector
- Inaugural inspection: Before any new build course can be used in needs to have passed an independent inaugural inspection, for these inspections we use Capstone Inspections who are industry experts
Ropes courses and zip wires tend to have lots of moving parts that will require ongoing maintenance.
Adventure Course Construction can offer one off site visits to replace or repair worn out parts, or regular ongoing maintenance contracts to cover all maintenance requirements.
Ongoing maintenance
Once your ropes course or zip wire has seen a bit of use there will be ongoing maintenance that needs to be carried out:
Platform trimming
Adjusting wire tensions
Replacing worn or damaged wires
Replacing worn or damaged ratchet straps
Replacing worn or damaged belay points
